COLLEEN K was born the second youngest of five and raised in a small town in Saskatchewan.By age 9, Colleen was singing in music festivals and concerts, and by 14 was lead vocalist in a band and appeared at local events and television.
Colleen has been inspired by the vocal styles of a variety of artists, ranging from Emmylou Harris to Anne Murray, Jann Arden and Shania Twain.
Never limiting herself to one genre, Colleen believes that music is to be enjoyed. " If I can make someone forget their troubles, and maybe put a smile on their face or touch their hearts with my song - even if it's only for just those few moments - that's what it's all about ".And with her own unique vocal style and heartwarming voice, Colleen K can indeed do just that.
Recently, Colleen teamed with songwriter / instrumentalist / producer Kevin Gorwill to record a country/pop CD consisting of original songs written by Gorwill.The CD album titled " Light in Your Eyes " was recorded and produced at Musically Your Records, Kamsack Saskatchewan and released March / 09.
