Kilkenny = best festival
we've ever played. Five gigs in three days and the audiences got
increasingly mental - and they started off pretty mental too. They
loved us to bits, we sold loads of CDs, got hugged by complete
strangers in the street (and they didn't steal our wallets either..!)
Tift Merritt was sitting front and right at our Saturday gig in the
Clubhouse hotel after she'd finished her own show, and we hung out with
Chatham County Line and the rockabilly dudes from Hillbilly Casino at
the (exclusive but not very secret) artistes bar. The weather was
gorgeous, we made loads of new friends and other than Kate Rusby
showing up and offering herself to me, it couldn't have got much
better.
